Airbrush Van by AirbrushEffect Airbrush Van by AirbrushEffect
took 2 days, 13 airbrush gurus and 1 bbq to completely airbrush a van and clear it.

it has a marvel theme and we are all pretty happy with the outcome.

i spent most of my time on Deadpool and other bits on the drivers side of the van.

everyone loves loki, and tbh i dont really get it.. but i was never really into loki or thor.
deadpool however is awesome.. love a smartass, especially one played by ryan reynolds.. still got my fingers crossed they will make the deadpool movie with him.

and i dont like green lantern either, was actually meant to be a marvel only van, but the decision maker wanted him in, despite my complaints about him. oh well.. cant get everything u want.. i did manage to convince him about deadpool tho, that was completely my doing.. lol

Really awesome.

My friends and I are planning on painting a mural on a van, but with a brush rather than an airbrush. Any tips?

that's awesome.

i recommend having the base colour of the car clearcoated and then rub it back with 800 grit and paint ontop of that and when done clear coat again. any issues and u can pull back ur artwork and start again without effecting the paint of the car.

if the car is already the colour u want and already clearcoated, then just the 800 grit sand will be needed to then paint ontop of and then clear coat again. will make ur job easier.

at this size id say you should use a projector and make sure you outline ur images onto the van first, last thing u want to do is all that work and have the proportions wrong.

from a painting point of view, just paint what u see in ur reference pics, it's only shapes that are either sharp or soft that make up an image and keep an eye on ur contrast.. ask urself, is that 100% black.. or not.

super keen to see what you do.. make sure you show me pics =)
best of luck with it.
